    This class is for those who consider themselves "beginners" who can read Hiragana and Katakana. This is a course to comprehensively learn about the Japanese Language and Culture with communicative language activities. The objective is to gain practical ability communicating in everyday situations. If you can already read Hiragana and Katakana and you know very basic sentences or everyday expressions, then 102 is for you!

Basic Japanese for Beginners 102


Description:

This class is for those who consider themselves "beginners" and can read Hiragana and Katakana. This is a course to comprehensively learn about the Japanese language and culture with communicative language activities. This class is for those who want to start using Japanese immediately. The objective is to gain practical ability in communicating within everyday situations. If you can already read Hiragana and Katakana, and you know basic sentences or everyday expressions, then Japanese 102 is for you!

Textbook: Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, Elementary 1 A2

Goals: Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to... 

  1. talk/ ask about a daily routine: understand time, date month and weeks.
  2. ask a friend where he/ she went on their vacations and answer any questions about this subject.
  3. exchange information in short simple terms with a friend about the following week's schedule when deciding a day to meet.
  4. ask and answer questions in short simple terms about where to buy gifts.
  5. Understand more about basic Japanese culture
