    Education Abroad at the University of Kentucky (UK International Center) is seeking a full-time Education Abroad Advisor to join our professional team.

    Position Description:
    The EA Advisor will work closely with students at all phases of the education abroad process, including promotion and outreach, advising and selection, on-going orientation, credit transfer, etc. The advisor will become an expert on a wide range of educational opportunities available to UK students within our strategic portfolio of programs and must know the details of the programs, including application procedures and deadlines. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about other countries and international travel, including systems of higher education, culture, and health, safety, and safety issues. The EA Advisor must commit to understanding curricula and procedures at UK and liaise with key faculty and relevant offices such as Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Career Center, Undergraduate Research and college advising units. Other job responsibilities include data collection/reporting, program development and active participation in professional organizations.

    Each EA Advisor specializes in one strategically important goal of the office (i.e, on-going orientation, EAPA program management, internships & service-learning). For this particular advising position, the advisor will oversee the on-going maintenance of our enrollment management system (utilizing Studio Abroad) and manage our online web presence.

    Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
    Successful candidates will have international education experience, education abroad/student advising experience, familiarity with intercultural learning, and successful promotion and outreach experience. Candidates must have excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, time management skills, and a high degree of professionalism. Desirable qualities include skills in outcomes assessment related to education abroad, familiarity with non-European countries and cultures, proficiency in languages other than English, and knowledge of StudioAbroad software.

    Education and Preferred Experience:
    Masters Degree and one year experience (or equivalency) is required. Experience in education abroad, advising/counseling, and/or international services is preferred.

    Our client in Central Kentucky is seeking an ambitious Assistant Account Manager to support their industrial supply business expansion.   Key responsibilities will be to identify potential new business, and initiate projects and activities to develop such business.

    Primary job duties will include:  market research with target customers to develop and clarify business targets; development of key supply chain alliances to satisfy market demands;  preparing and submitting quotations to customers;  development of business processes for new customers;  problem solving for daily business problems; confirming customer satisfaction and requests; submission of sales data to accounting for invoicing and auditing; budget creation and management to achieve results; reporting and communicating effectively with manager.  In fact, success in this position will be defined by the successful applicant’s ability to communicate with their customers, vendors, and manager and to build new business relationships for the client organization.  Candidates should also have the ability to develop great customer and supplier relationships.   Travel required – up to 50% throughout the Midwest.  Position will be based in Kentucky.  Candidates must pass a post offer drug screen and physical.

    Qualifications Required: 

    -       Bachelors Degree (Marketing or Business Management Preferred)

    Our client in Central Kentucky is seeking a Bi-lingual (Japanese) Account Representative to manage the accounts for their Japanese customers.  The person selected for this position will help with reporting and translating and will be responsible for customers from start to finish (getting the order, order the parts, make sure the parts are shipped, help with pricing issues, and assist with Accounts Receivable / collections.)  Will serve as the intermediary between American client and Japanese customers.  Candidates must have very good Japanese communication ability (verbal, written, and reading).  Must also be proficient with Excel and have experience with SAP and JD Edwards.  Bachelor’s degree required (will consider a recent college graduate.)     We're looking for a part-time Japanese language and cultural instructor to train busy executives.

    In this position, you'll work primarily in our Georgetown Classroom and teaching offsite at student locations such as in manufacturing facilities and corporate boardrooms, where you will facilitate understanding while also helping your students communicate across cultural borders.

    The ideal candidate is an experienced teacher with a high level of Japanese fluency (JLPT 1 or equivalent) who enjoys working with people of varied backgrounds, has some knowledge of manufacturing environments, and believes that mutual understanding is the first step to mutual success. The instructor will work closely with our client contacts to implement our existing curriculum focusing on cultural fluency and effective verbal and non-verbal communication.     Translate/interpret for all types of internal/external communications covering a wide range of subject matters including but not limited to business, technical and non –technical areas.  Assist associates in creating documents and presentation materials in Japanese and English required for meetings and general communications. Provide training to lower level associates as well as serve as liaison for outside translation and interpretation request.  Travel and work overtime as required by projects.
