JASK Shinnenkai 新年会 2010

Each January, Japanese and Americans welcome the New Year with Japanese traditions and music.  The 23rd Annual Shinnenkai will be held January 16th, 6:00pm to 9:00pm, at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom next to Rupp Arena.

Special Features
  • Musical performance: Beauties and the Beast, country/bluegrass and traditional Japanese music led by Japanese Consul General: Hiroshi Sato.  This Nashville based group plays the best of Japanese and American music.
  • Kimono exhibit featuring the collection of Bob Haven
  • 茶道 - 'Sado' live tea ceremony
  • 鏡開き - 'Kagami Biraki' traditional sake barrel opening ceremony
  • HDTV to watch the end of the UK Basketball game at Auburn (ending at approximately 6:30pm)

Food
  • Made-to-order sushi by Sugano
  • Made-to-order pasta by Hyatt chefs
  • Carving Station featuring top round of beef and slow-roasted turkey breast
  • Exquisite Soups, Salads, Desserts

*Couple's Ticket: A member may purchase a ticket for a spouse or significant other at this discounted rate.
**Overnight Packages: Many of our guests travel from out of town to the Shinnenkai.  JASK can arrange for you to stay at the Hyatt Regency following the event.  Package includes a room at the Hyatt on Saturday night and a hot breakfast Sunday morning.  Overnight Package: Double, includes one hotel room, with two Shinnenkai tickets and two breakfasts.  For more information about the Hyatt Regency Lexington, click here.
