Noh, or Nogaku is a major form of classical Japanese musical drama. Dating back to the Muromachi period, this art has been loved for hundred of years, notably by famous warlords: Oda Nobunaga, Toyotami Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. This year Kentucky is lucky to have its own Noh master, Mr. Atsuyoshi Asano as a visiting scholar and teacher at UK. He will talk about the beauty of Noh and then treat us a small live performance. Take advantage of this very rare opportunity to meet and see a true master outside of Japan.
