A Japanese Automotive Manufacturing Company is seeking a fully onsite, Senior Accountant to join their team for their Hopkinsville, KY location who will support various aspects of Finance and Accounting by ensuring compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control while conforming to established organizational policies. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounts management team.
BOE and skills. The salary range for this position would be around the 62k-97 mark and would include great benefits such as medical, dental, vision covered 100% for the employee and 401k as well. Working hours would be M-F from 9:00 am-6:00 pm
Your essential duties for this position would be the following:
• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Perform cost accounting for the department and within the manufacturing industry
• Document financial transactions by entering account information
• Assist in preparing financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e., GAAP, FASB, JSOX), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
• Complete compliance requirements for Tax deadlines and Government Questionnaires
• Secure financial information by completing database backups
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements
• Ensure control of confidential information
• Initiate or suggest ideas for cost control based on financial data
• Support continuous improvement efforts in all areas including quality and environmental, health, and safety
• Maintain good tribalance record
• Supervise AP/AR functions
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation
• Deal with outside auditors
• Prepare financial statements
• Support general accounting managers who directly report to Steve
• Conduct general accounting tasks
Please consider the following qualifications when applying:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5-10 years of accounting/finance experience, including cost accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
• Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
• Highly detail-oriented
• Ability to travel occasionally
• Physical ability to sit, stand, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
